Interest calculator
Interest on a sum between two dates — for money suits, decrees, cheque and invoice claims.
Under Section 34 of the Code of Civil Procedure the court decides the rate. From the date of the decree to payment it may not exceed six per cent a year, except where the liability arose out of a commercial transaction, when it may go up to the contractual rate or, if there is none, the rate at which nationalised banks lend for commercial transactions.
A calculator for quick reference, not legal advice. Check the Act, holidays of your court and any special law that sets its own period before relying on a date.
